I need help, I bleached my black hair and now it's a bright orange/red color should I use brown

the red, I'm sure the bleaching has damaged my hair, so how soon can I use another dye on it, I have a photoshoot this weekend, and am leaving the country on Monday so I am desperate to fix this fast. If dye isn't an option for a few weeks, what can I do for a temporary fix?

Oh, boy! You definitely need a pro to help you to prevent further damage.

For a temporary fix, you can get Fanciful by Roux at most pharmacies and beauty supply stores - the beauty supply stores will have a larger selection of colors. It comes in liquid and mousse form, and it is truly temporary, washes out in one shampoo and is pretty much harmless, kind of like food coloring in natural hair colors. Be sure to use gloves though, or it can make a mess of your fingernails.

if you dye your hair brown you will just have red hair. you need to go to a salon and ask them to help you fix it. they can make it look better but it's still not going to look great. i have dyed my hair orange before by accident and it looked awful, i is one of the hardest things to fix

The best thing to do at this point is to really go to a salon and have an expert take a look at it. They will be able to get it back to the best color and condition possible. It will be a hard penny to swallow but it's your hair...it's what people see first and you want it to look as good as it can. Good luck...I hope your hair looks great when it's all said and done.

The only reasonable thing to do now is go to a salon, preferrably a color expert. They can assess what to do from there. They may offer to completely strip your hair of all color and then use the shade you want your hair to be. If you want a new color, you might want to go for it. Or, they may not offer this option because of further damage. Instead they will use a darker color that will deposit color onto your hair. Either way, you need an expert. With the photo shoot and leaving the country coming up you just can't risk frying your hair and still being orange. Don't feel bad, I did the same thing when I was younger.

You could use a couple vo5 hot oil treatments to put some life back in your hair and repair the damage wait a couple weeks throw some strippe ron it and repeat the vo5 treatments them might have to strip again. All the stripper does it remove color fromt he hiar so that when you dye it it doesnt turn all funky and 2 wont dmg the hair. vo5 hot oil treatments are awesome for those oops i burned my hair moments. Then again I accidently dyed my hair orange once and loved so. Or you could like they said go to a salon I'd suggest the beauty school cause it'll cost alot less then a shop itself.

I would take her to the vet and get them to do a skin scrape on her it could be sarcoptic mange or demodex mites and they bury underneath the skin and make it very itchy and uncomfortable for the dog and they cannot be seen by the human eye personally i would take her to the vet, but she could just be allergic to something but i would still take her to the vet anyway.

it sounds like something irritiating her skin. have there been any recent changes? changed laundry degernent? shampooed the carpets? used bug spray? lawn treatments? you can try a little bit of benedryl spray. (only a little since she's tiny!) and try using baby shampoo since her skin is delecate right now. if it gets really hot to the touch or oozing she should see a vet though. try calling and see if they can give you some other advice or something over the counter. good luck!

What kind of grass do you have? Many dogs are allergic to Bermuda grass. I have to give mine monthly allergy shots because she will itch so badly.

it sounds like she has a bit of a skin allergy. Dogs can be allergic to all sorts of things pollens, certain proteins in their food etc. and this can make them a bit itchy. The skin is turning red because she is scratching so much. you'd be best taking her to the vet who will most likely give her a shot of steroids to settle the scratching, perhaps some antibiotics to prevent any secondary infection and maybe take some skin scraps to rule out mites. the vet may also give u a special shampoo that kills bacteria and yeasts. This type of thing can be easily resolved and it isnt too expensive but i'd definately take her to the vet. i'd also stop bathing her with your shampoo until you've spoken to a vet as this could be part of the problem. Hope she's better soon!

From my experience with my dog - bull terrier-white I would say that your dog is allergic on shampoo. They are to strong for her/his skin. For the fleas I do recommend fresh GARLIC-let her eat every day one small piece of it. Fleas do not like Garlic.

o that sucks! well, the best thing i can think of is to wear a neutral color over the shirt, or if u want to show the shirt off, try pulling ur hair back and see if it looks any better. (another option is a head scarf but that might not be ur style.) good luck!

well i know that natural red hair is made with an extra molecule, and that is why its so hard to dye it another color. i guess if you reeeallly want to dye it, you would have to do an intense peroxide, then dye it to whatever other color you want. that would probably be hard to keep up with, though... im not sure!

umm i suggest you buy a FINISHING BALM WITH CUCUMBER.

you could use nair, but i strongly don't reccomment using it on your face because it can burn. the only other options are try buying any lotions of shaving cremes that claim to lighten and make hair less noticable, but i have no experience with these. you could also shave it every day.. theres not much shaving just a quick 1-2-3.. or you can get your family to fork over for electrolisis (i think i spelled that right..) which is a kind of procedure where they remove ther hair follicles on your face, i believe. but you should google that.

normally upper lips should not be waxed. that area is skin is very sensitive. u can thread it like eye brows or u can apply hair removal creme but any hair removals u use, it will come back again. u may have to apply every 15 days or 3 weeks. i am doing that for my hands. but i dont have experience of upper lips. u can try hair removal "Nair" which is good. once u can try this, it will not harm u. if u dont like dont use next time but i think it will help.

I'm a hairstylist who has done sooooo many colors to my hair prior to receiving my license. I will tell you i understand about the money cost of going from red to blond. It can cost a lot to most Salon's it's considered a corrective color process, how ever I strongly don't recomemd this step at home in order for you to go from red to blond at home you would most likely would be bleaching every thing out ,and that my friend can cause some serious damage to your locks. red is the hardest color to lift out besides black. My recomandation would have the colorist at the salon of your choice to do a very heavy highlight allover the head and do it in steps so as not to destroy your hair , a lot of times when you strip color out of your hair you also have to cut a lot off. So if your looking to keep it a certain length i would suggest doing the heavy highlights every 4 to 6 weeks . Good luck Sweetie I'm sure your gonna look great as a blond.

Please do not do anything chemical to your hair prior to going in. You could easily make the situation more difficult for the colorist. Are you an artificial red or natural red head? What is your desired outcome? Really the only thing that I would recommend is to do a protein and moisture treatment such as K pak by Joico or Extreme by Redken as least 2 days prior to going in. I have finally gotten sick of coloring my hair black and have opted for a change. I was able to lift most of my hair to a light/medium brown. However I wanted to put in some extra streaks and have kept on bleaching. What I have left now are gold/ orange streaks. I have never used toner before and was hoping it would do the trick instead of more bleachings. I'm not sure I've noticed if any drugstores in my neighborhood carry toners. Overall would it fix my problem. And if not could I use a temporary haircolor like natural instincts in a light ash color. Just to minimize the orange without compromising the overall blondness/lightness

Yes, toner will correct that. Temporary ash dye might fix it, but I wouldn't do it because after you bleach your hair it is left very porous meaning that it will suck that dye up like a sponge and you will end up being back to having dark hair again (happened to me).

There is ONE drugstore brand toner and L'Oreal makes it. It's called "Tone Refiner". I've used it a couple times and it worked well for me. There's one for blonde hair and one for brown hair, I would go with the blonde one for you.

*Also, at Sally Beauty Supply, there's these little packets of color correcting solution (inexpensive), there's a purple one for counter-acting brassiness. You could get a few of these and you can use them different ways; pour it in your shampoo, add it to your bleach or your color the next time or use it with a conditioning mask. It really is meant to be added to hair color, but my stylist told me the other ways to use it.

If you are going black to red, then you need to bleach your hair first for the color to take. Remember, adding color does not LIFT color. Since it is dark brown naturally, you will have to bleach it to get it lift to a red color.

you could use nair, but i strongly don't reccomment using it on your face because it can burn. the only other options are try buying any lotions of shaving cremes that claim to lighten and make hair less noticable, but i have no experience with these. you could also shave it every day.. theres not much shaving just a quick 1-2-3.. or you can get your family to fork over for electrolisis (i think i spelled that right..) which is a kind of procedure where they remove ther hair follicles on your face, i believe. but you should google that.

normally upper lips should not be waxed. that area is skin is very sensitive. u can thread it like eye brows or u can apply hair removal creme but any hair removals u use, it will come back again. u may have to apply every 15 days or 3 weeks. i am doing that for my hands. but i dont have experience of upper lips. u can try hair removal "Nair" which is good. once u can try this, it will not harm u. if u dont like dont use next time but i think it will help.

It will be uneven color... sorry. Red would show up on the other dye as long as you used a red color in the same level ( depth of color) your currently have on your ends. You could do a rinse on your ends ( use a bleach powder and developer mixed with shampoo and water apply to wet hair and leave on for about 10 minutes or until you see color coming out). to get the hair to match up better with your natural color and then do the red. well if you want a nice dark red.. maybe you should lighten up your hair first.. make it one even color then dye it whatever red you want... use clairol...however you spell it.. i used that for when i dyed my hair red... it turned out nice and it lasted a while.. but you have to remeber that when you dye your hair such an artificial color as red.. it will come out realy quickly in the shower... it may sound sick but dont wash your hair for a couple of day... jut let the color soak in all the way.. otherwise it will rinse out in a matter of days... good luck!

hi hun. it sounds like a real bad problemo. i think the best thing you can do is get yur hair dyed by a professional or get a new hair dye brand. cheap hair dyes are no good so spend a little more, for that great look. that doesn't really work, if it does, then it will most likely just turn your hair orangish. if you are going to lighten it, then just dye it. whatever you do, don't get a box dye or sun-in, these will severely damage your hair. go to sally beauty and buy the dye, they sell quality dyes for very cheap. pick a color that you want, and mix with a 30 or 40 vol developer, depending on how light you want to go. now, keep in mind that your hair is a reddish orange shade, so if you want to get a cooler shade of blonde, your hair will need a ash/green based dye to counteract that red in your hair...or you're risking getting an orange color.

I have medium brown hair - when i was younger, probably 12 or 13, my mother wouldnt allow me to colour my hair. So she suggested I put lemon juice in my hair and sit out in the sun....so for a few weeks i did this and low and behold it did really ligthen my hair. I dont see why you couldnt put lemon juice in your hair and go tanning at a tanning salon...that should work.

o that sucks! well, the best thing i can think of is to wear a neutral color over the shirt, or if u want to show the shirt off, try pulling ur hair back and see if it looks any better. (another option is a head scarf but that might not be ur style.) good luck!

The color is called REW(ruby eyed white). If it has one ear that flops, and one that sticks up, it's just a lop mutt of some type. My lop mutt grew to be about 8 pounds.

I had to go brown first, since when I went back blonde initially my hair had a bit of a pink tint to it. I was basically in the same boat as you for this one.

I used Clairol Natural Instincts, it's semi permanent but I don't know if that's what you want.

I really liked the Cinnabery shade, it wasn't like super red or super auburn but a nice middle ground. I get lots of compliments on it.

I used just one box, trust me it's more than enough. My hair is the same length as yours. I dyed mine and then dyed it later but like 2-3 weeks later. I recommend that.

I have thick hair and always require two boxes of hair dye. Be careful with red it is a very hard color to get out of your hair yet fades rapidly. Go Figure? The garnier fructis brand is the only drugstore brand I use. If you want to go red the right way go to a salon. If at home is your only option use both boxes at the same time dont wait any time in between. GOOD LUCK

This product worked really well........I got my hair down to the shade I wanted it. Ok, it's not that bad, it's not carrot top or anything and I do get compliments on the color, thickness and softness of it. It's just after it grows about 2 1/2 in. it will start to curl and I don't like that. I want to grow it out to about 4 in. on top and fade down to clean on the sides.

How do I keep it from curling up on me like that without it getting frizzy and brittle while still being soft?

Go see a professional please- the only way to get this out is to bleach it-I'm not sure what color you want as an end result but they can cover it up, or bleach it lighter-which of course no matter how much you bleach it it will come out yelllowy orange-so then they have to tone or recolor it. They will know what is best and can do it without killing your hair : )

The only way to remove it would be to bleach out the pigment. Semi permanent hair color will wash/fade out but it will still leave some of the pigment behind.

If you don't want to bleach your hair you could try to redye it using a richer color brown or a darker more auburn red.

If you wanted to make it lighter you would have to bleach the pigment out which I would suggest having professionally done or you could simply have highlights added throughout your hair and it will lighten and tone down the red look.
