not full on red but an orange tint, even if i die it black, which i just did so how can i prevent it from turning this color?

do you have bleach underneath your hair? it sounds like you either have a lot of damage, hence the color not holding, or you are using too high of a developer.....try using a 10 next time to deposit more color. if you have bleach on your hair (from previous colors), you will need to put a filler on your hair in order to hold the color. if you hair is extremely damaged, try conditioning a lot and getting a hair cut. good luck!

I can't really say without seeing your hair, but try Nice 'N Easy hair dye. It's made to cover gray, but covers others colors very nicely. I use the "Blue Black" color and it has totally turned my hair DARK black no matter what color my hair was to begin with.

i think you shoul try to dye it dark brown, to get the red out, (it worked for me,) then dye it black or whatever color that you wanted.

It is true I also have the same prob. I read if you use grape juice it takes out the orange from it you just rinse your hair with it also dont put any ash on your hair it will make it green good luck
