please dont!!!!!! well not yourself anyway for this sort of work please go to the hairdressers. im a hairdresser and when people try to save a bit of money buy doing it themselves then it turns out a mess and you will have to pay a fortune to get it right. and even at that it will never turn out the way you wanted it. so just save the hassel and get the pro's do there job.

you should bleach your hair first or then it might look weird, you might want to use herbal essences hair dye, use which ever blond dye you perfer.

Personally, though, I think only honey blonde STREAKS would look gorgeous in dark red hair. It's up to you!

if your hair is coloured then you will need to use colourfix colour remover first to remove the artificial pigment you have put into your hair so that you have a blank canvas to do what you wish. then to get honey blonde you will only have to bleach to the yellow stage (toner will be the thing that tones the hair to an acceptable shade of blonde) then once bleached use something like 27g spring honey miss clairol by clairol http://www.clairolprofessional.com/dispe... (these are professional colours so will work MUCH better than OTC colour.

FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO STRIP THE HAIR BY USING BLEACH. THEN YOU NEED TO PICK UR COLOUR BLONDE AND PUT THAT COLOUR OVER THE TOP OF UR BLEACHED HAIR. A WORD OF WARNING! ONCE UR HAIR HAS BEEN BLEACHED/STRIPPED IT WILL BE IN VERRRRY BAD CONDITION THEREFORE YOU MUST NOT PUT UR COLOUR BLONDE ON THE SAME DAY, UR HAIR NEEDS A GOOD CONDITION OTHERWISE IT COULD SNAP OFF. ALSO UR HAIR HAS TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION TO USE BLEACH. MIGHT I SAY YOU DO A STRAND TEST, IF THE HAIR COS STRETCHY THEN DONT USE THE BLEACH, GET SOME CONDITION IN UR HAIR. MY HAIR IS DARK BLACK AND THE BLEACH WILL NOT LIFT 1ST TIME ROUND AS ITS TOO DARK. IF UR HAIR IS DARK RED YOU NEED TO TRY AND WASH IT OUT MAKE IT FADE USING SOAP POWDER THAT WAY THE LIGHTER UR HAIR IS THE BLEACH DOES NOT HAVE TO WORK AS HARD TO LIFT IT AND ITS NOT BEING TOO HARSH ON UR HAIR. IF YOU DONT DO THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO APPLY THE BLEACH 2X AND UR HAIR WILL BE LIKE COTTON WOOL. RED DOES WASH OUT, SO TRY AND MAKE IT FADE A LITTLE BEFORE LIFTING IT AND THE BLEACH WONT HAVE TO BE APPLIED 2X AND IS NOT MORE WORK ON THE HAIR.
