Ok when I worked at Walgreens I noticed this stuff in the hair dye aisle. It was some sort of color stripper that would strip all hair dye from your hair and return it to your hair's natural state. Try that and if it doesnt work... go to a salon again.

you could have them strip it and recolor. Its best you go back to the salon as soon as possible. Its easier for them to correct within the first 48 hours. The sooner the better

Well if you want to pay the money and go to the salon again, you can do that. If you want to save some money and do it yourself, go to a beauty salon and buy some blonde dye. There's also rinse dye, spray dye, and if you still have blonde highlights, you can use blonde increasing shampoo. Good Luck!

The hair dying process can be harsh on your hair. To go back to blond you may need to have color "removed" from your hair. Your stylist may also be able to slightly change pr adjust the red shade to something you like better, rather than going back to blond. Going back to the stylist for advice is your best bet. If you didn't like the stylist, however, call around and see if there is a salon with a specialist in hair color removal. They will be able to examine your hair and tell you if the process is going to damage hair further. A lot will depend on what type of hair dye process was used on your hair. ahh that's a tough one

I've been in the same situation. red as well, eh not a color for hair unless you're born with it i guess. I couldn't wait to get it off, but honestly, you should wait a while because redying it so fast will kill your hair. I'm sure it's not worth grass hair and split ends. but if it is redye it and then put some oil in your hair, it should bring a little more life back. or...you could always stick with the ol' hat trick.

Go back to the salon and see if they can strip the red colour from your hair. Red is the worst colour for dyeing on top of. Don't try and dye it blonde yourself before seeing your hairdresser first. Believe me, it will become a wonderful shade of green!!!

Go to Sally's Beauty Store and ask them if a toner will help tone the color down. I had my hair dyed and it became organgey, but after having a toner applied it changed the color and it was beautiful.

You could have it stripped out but its not good for the hair, I would recommend going back slowly although I do understand your frustration I went dark and then didnt like it but I took my hair dressers advice and just had highlights put in rather than a full colour and gradually I was back to my usual colour.

Well, there is many things you can do...some people said dye stripper or whatever, that may work. I have never heard of it but sounds good. Also you could just bleach it no? Or just dye it back to your natural colour. Also, to be safe ask a hair stylist what they suggest, and they may say go back right away, since they want money, but see if they have other suggestions too since redying it there will cost a lot. You should have tried non-permanent first or just dyed it yourself so you didn't waste all that money.

okay PLEASE don't listen to the unprofessionals that post on this board, most of them talk utter c**p, this as a PROFESSIONAL annoys me. you will first need to use colourfix colour remover as this will remove the artificial pigment out of your hair that the red colour has put in, follow instructions on the pack to a T. you will not revert to your natural colour if you were bleached beforehand, chances are you will return to the colour your hair was bleached to before the red colour (minus the toner of course) if your hair is like this then just a toner put back on it will take your hair to your shade of blonde again. if this doesn't happen then after using the colour remover you will need to bleach, pale yellow is the furthest ANYBODY should ever bleach to. once you are at this stage then you are free to apply your toner, platinum for platinum hair, ash for ash blonde etc.. professional colours are best, i am platinum myself and in order to get this colour (think marilyn monroe) i bleach to pale yellow then tone with vitelity art 10n swedish blonde with 20 vol developer (peroxide) oh and the SILLY person who suggested gradual highlighting is MAD, this over time will cause MUCH more damage than to just fix it right in the first place and then to just purely touch up roots in the future.

I have my hair dyed red aswell and apparently if i want to go blonde again i have to bleach it completley then dye it blonde to take all the red out. Hope this helps! X
