i want to dye my hair blonde well much lighter and i have for a long time! but whenever i dye it it turns red. is there anything cheaper than going to the salon? something i can do myself. thanks!!

There is a new line of Loreal hair color that is for dark hair coloring it mugh lighter. Try that but it sounds like maybe you have some red in your hair so make sure you get something that has ash or beige in it.

Use a stronger bleach.. try 40 volume developer and cream.

Are you starting with highlights? thats what id do - then slowly add more - as you can control the colour better that way - thats how most hairdressers would do it x

my hair is black and i recently got a blonde section at the back. You need a professional to do it as your hair needs to be bleached. i got it done twice to get a light blonde colour and it didnt turn red during the process. just make sure if your using bleach not to touch your roots cause it does damage your scalp a little.

Well, Sun it, is really good to spray on before you dye your hair. I know its not for that but it really works(i have dark brown hair that i dye blonde). Then you can use bleach, like regular bleachif nothing else works. Just let your hair soak in it. Then for your roots do a root touchup dye.
