How to get red out of hair?

My natural haircolor has alot of redtones in it. I dyed it a blonde color and it turned out an awful brassy red color, now I'm going to try to get it back to my natural color. My natural haircolor is a medium reddish brown color, what color would be best to get and the best kind?

O.k. I have red tones in my hair too and I learned this the hard way too. NEVER use any haircolor that has golden in the name. ALWAYS use neutral colors or it'll turn red every time. You will probably need to go with a dark neutral brown to kill the red. I would go with the same kind that you used before, that way there won't be any chemical differences. If your hair turns out too dark, start washing it alot with Prell shampoo and it will strip a little of the color out and lighten it up. If this doesn't work, you might consider using one of the temporary colors on the market, they won't damage your hair and you can use them as much as you want. Just remember to use Neutral colors when you color in the future. I usually use Loreal Haircolors, they are really good.

go to the beauty supply store and ask for Ardell red/gold corrector it is in a little tube and cost less than $2. You can add it to your next hair dye or if you want to try to stay blonde you can add it to your bottle of shampoo and see if that helps to cut the redness.

If you just dyed it then you are supposed to wait atleast a couple months before you dye it again. But if you think your hair is healthy enough then go with a medium/ dark auburn brown color and get one with extra conditioners in it.

If you try to do the blond thing again get ash colors they tone down the brassy-ness. I have done this before myself. And im a brunnette with alot of redtone highlights also.
