What colour highlights or dye would suit dark red/auburn hair?

I think you should go with dark brown lowlights instead of highlights. Otherwise, you might look like you're trying too hard. Dark brown and red look really good together. If you're trying to make a statement and don't have any job interviews in the near future, you could go with blonde for a calico look.

I have a friend with your hair color and I think that her blond highlights look beautiful in it. Not too many though. That would look really nice on anyone with auburn color hair. Good Luck!!

I have blackcurrant red on my hair with copper highlights, or you could have bronze coloured streaks, that would look okay. basically I think anything goes these days.

I have dark red hair and had golden highlighs put in and it looks great! I just had the hairdresser bleach my hair to just before blond.

Slightly browner or slightly blonder always works. Looks subtle but different!

I would say a light copper. Not brown or blonde. Maybe a golden copper actually.
