woooa, stop! don't dye it yourself. go see a stylist. i'm pretty sure you're hair will just turn out black, with a red pigment. this coming from someone that use to ALWAYS experiment w/ her hair. plus, black is the hardest shade to get out. more then likely you'll have to strip some of the black out, to achieve a redish shade.

Feria works for me and I always get a lot of compliments on my color. They have several shades of red that are nice.

Depends on the condition of your hair. If there's nothing wrong with it then use any of the Loreal brands. If it's a little damaged, start with Excellence Creme. It's a little gentler on your hair. By the way, Feria leaves a metallic coating on the shafts of your hair so if you use it and then use another brand, it will not take well. I tried Feria once but did not like it. It was really harsh on my hair. Try Excellence Creme or Loreal preference. I have used those two for over 15 years and I am very pleased with the results.
