If you put blonde over red highlights, will hair turn orange?

I have naturally medium brown hair but currently have reddish highights. I want to go back to having golden blonde highlights. What's the transition process going to be like? I will definitely be going to a professional for the actual coloring, but I don't want to make an appointment and go there just for them to tell me that my hair will turn orange. I'd rather just keep my hair as is then go through some long transition process right now.

If the person is a professional and knows what they are doing, it wont turn orange..You will get blonde..But find a reputable colorist. If they give you that answer about going orange, then walk out and find someone else who has the confidence and ability to get the job done.

I have my hair dyed a pretty bright red and I have blond and black highlights and the blond over the red does not turn anything orange. I have it done professionally and it turns out great. I've been doing it for over a year without any problems, so I don't think you should have anything to worry about, as long as you go to a good place.

yeah,if you want your hair to turn out orange.it might even turn out bright red.red highlights mixed with blond make bright red hair.not a good idea.maybe if you go to a salon but don't do it by yourself.
