Did your vet do a skin scraping and test for demodectic mange? AKA puppy mange.

Because that's what it sounds like to me, it takes either oral or dips in pesticide to kill the mange mites.

Also make sure he is on high quality food without corn or wheat as these can cause skin and coat problems / allergies.

It might not have anything to do with the climate. do you live in a nicer area/ If you don't then it could be a bateria or something..... do not quote me or anything. I am just guessing.

Hi,

It sounds like your dog is having an allergic reaction to something.

I had a Sharpei that I rescued. She had all the typical health problems. She kept loosing her hair in round spots. It would come up as a bump about the size of a golf ball and then the bump would go away and the hair just fell out.

After numerous trips to the vet, and trying all kinds of test, it turned out that she was allergic to dog food, grass, dust and a lot of other common things. She was having the bump reaction to the protein in the dog food, so I had to put her on a low protein dog food and she had to take pretizone for the rest of her life.
