Best hair color brand for brunette going red?

I have a medium golden brown color for my hair right now, but I want to go a medium to dark red. What is the best brand of hair color for that? Meaning which one will last the longest (not fade) and have the most dramatic change. Serious answers only, please and experience is definately good!

Go to a salon for the best results. If you color it with "drugstore" brands you risk the color coming out wrong, possibly too dark. Once that happens you'll have a hard time lifting that with another "drugstore" brand since color cannot lift color (only bleach can) and you'll end up in the salon for a pricey color correction.

I would suggest you go professional for the first time especially with red.... Red is one of the hardest colors to achieve so you don't want to come out looking aweful..... Go professional for the first time then from there you can use store brand dye.... Good Luck
