Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

Red hair color is usually the fastest to fade, and it can become brassy. Hair dyes tend to fade when washed frequently or when hot water is used. You could end up with an orange hue if you try to fade your hair, it's best to shampoo less. To keep your red hair from looking orange, try using a color-enhancing shampoo and matching conditioner.

Using a red shampoo like Artec by l'oreal will help to prevent the fading.

Try going here for Artec Loreal Professionnel Red Clover

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

the red pigments are not well absorbed into the hair shaft. they kind of sit on top of it rather than going into it. so over time, the color disappears...

if only they could figure out how to make that stop happening...

Use Clairol Hydrience. I have NEVER had a problem with that hair color fading.

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

Red hair is hard to maintain...you gotta use the right shampoos and conditioners

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

Because the colour fades as you wash, just like the colour on a t shirt fades over time. Use shampoo and conditioner to prolong the life of the colour which should help a bit.

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

1) Cuz its not natural and

2) Nothing lasts forever so its bound to fade one day no matter what kind of conditioner you use

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

actually sometimes if can fade to orange...it depends on the hair color you have before you put the red in, red hair is the hardest to maintain because it's an abstract color that usually varies greatly from the color that it was put on...blacks and browns fade too they are just less noticeable because only change to a slightly different version of the color

Why does hair dyed red always fade to brown?

It is because of the size of the pigment and not penetrating the cuticle the same as other pigments. There are many ways to help extend the color and good color enhancing shampoos, conditioners and glazes to freshen up between colors.
