Best Blonde Hair if you have Natural Red Tint?

My hair is naturally light to med brunette with golden tones. Everytime I dye my hair blonde myself it is red or has reddish tint to it. It comes out fine at the salon but i want to save money. Can someone recommend brand and shade I should use.

a non professional can only purchase 20 volume developer. the stylist probably uses 40 or higher (with an ash base if she uses color instead of bleach powder).

i am a professional and therefore can only recommend professional products. i don't know of anything you could do at home to fix the problem.

i can, however , explain why it's red when you do it if you would like me to.

you need to mix the color yourself. my friend is in cosmotology and she usually dyes my hair blonde 2 ways. First if its medium brown, then she usually does a double process on my hair so it doesnt look orange. (something you mgiht have to do) Secondly, when you got sallys beauty supply you have to buy a toner and the color. ask the sales poepel to help you find the right one for you hair. she uses a big bucket of bleach and it cost like 20 bucks and it has lasted us 6 months for doing each others hair.

Make sure the shade of blonde that you are using is ash. Ash does not have the red highlights that many of the other shades have.
